Back to the basics --- whose infrastructure?

With hardware the choice is do I buy your hardware or somebody elses.

With software the choice is the customer bought the hardware does he/she buy our software or somebody elses.

Novell is in no position, unlike Microsoft, to impose its software standard upon anyone.

The hardware infrastructure of the internet is already out there. Novell had to abandon IPX for IP.

Even in the directory area of software, Novell is one of many choices.

So how do you build your companies future on the basis of people selecting your software with which to build the directory infrastructure of the internet?

You have to prove to them there is something about your software that they want and need.

Your software has to be a compelling solution to someone's needs. Routers don't have needs, people do.

How do you plan to sell them Ellen?

Why choose Novell's infrastructure software? Open my mind up.
