**OT** Singapore Telecommunications Forms New Unit In India

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)--Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (TELE.SI) said Friday it has formed a unit in India called Singapore Telecom India Pte. Ltd.

The new unit, incorporated in India, has authorized capital of 40 million rupees ($1=INR43.54), with issued and paid-up capital of INR20.

Singapore Telecom India will offer consultancy and support services relating to telecommunications and information technology systems, provision of infrastructure support and related businesses.

The directors of Singapore Telecom India are Lim Toon, chief operating officer of SingTel, and Lim Shyong, SingTel's executive vice president of global business.
