Paul,

The "new mask set" represents improvements BEYOND what the cuurent 1 GHz Coppermine is

It sounds like Intel did a "late mask fix".

<The "new mask set" represents improvements BEYOND what the cuurent 1 GHz Coppermine is - and will be separate and distinct from next week's launch.

Look for improved speed & power from the "new mask set" at a later date.>

What a difference a day makes! Yesterday you were so sure how Intel has captured the MHz lead. Within 24 hours, your 1G dreams petered out to "limited-edition" CuMines. Now you are hoping for a miracle MHz lead with "new mask set" - talk about "Hope springs eternal!"

Keep predicting Intel recapturing MHz lead, you will be right some day. As you are so fond of saying - "even a broken clock is right twice a day".

P.S.: Care to guess what AMD has cooking for the same time frame as the "new mask set"?
