The DDI announcement didn't provide much detail, but there have been prior DDI/IDO announcements which showed overall disappointing sub numbers, but very positive CDMA sub growth. This could be the case here too.

The DDI CDMA sub growth hasnt been spectacular but it has been trending along at a little over 200,000 a month. The problem for them is that they are losing PDC customers to give them an overall net growth of near 0. Actually from the last press release detailing CDMA sub growth in Japan (when they reached 4m), it looked like IDO was actually starting to do a little better.

DDI sub growth...

At least for Jan., Korea did very well....700,000 new subs.

The impression I have is that New digital subs are down 10%. That denoted CDMA to me. I think your seeing things with rose colored glasses. DOMOCO took back some MOMO with their I-mode junk. The question we need to answer is how much better are sales in Korea and in new markets like Australia. I am also skeptical about USA subs. At least the snaptrac deal will allow them to burry some loss in aquisition stuff, and margins will improve with Handsets gone.
