BofA Monty analysis today:

Tyco intends to offer up to 20% of its undersea fiber optic cable business for sale in an initial public offering. We expect Tyco to file a registration statement sometime in March of 2000, which should be followed by a road show, and completion of the offering by mid-year. In our opinion, Tyco's planned offering may highlight and unlock significant shareholder value in the company's telecomm business.

I don't know about you guys, but I have a feeling that when this comes to pass, people are going to be falling all over each other to buy TYC, just like COMS/PALM. I hope we get another shot at $36/share.

Clay

Crystalball, Exercising options does not mean that he paid 139 million. H paid his option price and will pay AMT tax on the difference between his option price and his exercise price. If anything, he is betting big that TYC is up better than 20% a year from now. Brian
