Hello, Z'Pancho! Incarcerated? Did you receive a speedy and fair trial by a jury of your peers? I can only imagine what the charge might have been. Well, you're sprung now. That's what counts. And welcome back. That note was something on Patagon.com. About some sort of major financing they received from what I thought an impressive source. Also, highly coincidental that the following should turn-up on this morning's wire. ----- Thursday March 9, 4:25 am Eastern Time Spain's BSCH buys 75 pct of portal Patagon.com MADRID, March 9 (Reuters) - Spain's Banco Santander Central Hispano (BSCH) said on Thursday it had agreed to buy 75 percent of what it said was the leading Latin American financial services portal Patagon.com. It did not say how much it was paying for the stake, but said it had valued the company at $705 million. The bank is buying the stakes of Patagon.com's financial partners, including Chase Capital (NYSE:CMB - news), J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs. ``The remaining 25 percent will belong to the founders, led by Wenceslao Casares and Daniel Canel,' BSCH said. Miami-based Patagon.com is the biggest financial portal in Latin America and has a ``significant presence' in the United States, the BSCH statement said. It allows customers to trade stocks online, access financial information and participate in chats and has some 15 million page visits a month. ----- Let's stay on top of these Ibero-American developments, Z. What do you say? Also, big meet at the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank. Monday, I believe it was. Featured guests: Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. Topic: Dollarization Ecuador's national congress voted 'yes' on dollarization last week. Ask me and I will tell you Argentina is a shoe-in. And I hope it works for them. They've been down way too long. BTW: Wish I'd stopped-by sooner and seen your post. Have been busy elsewhere and rarely get by here anymore. Best, Tom
