Hi Rick,
I also see a good long run ahead for JDSU. In fact, I see a good run ahead for QCOM also, but it got way ahead of itself. In some ways I hope JDSU gets ahead of itself, because I'll get my profits faster. However, that requires the skill to get out.

We obviously don't have much choice about this, but I think JDSU will have an upsurge the way QCOM did last Fall, when it quadrupled after the 4 for 1 split. I think JDSU is in the mainstream consciousness right now the way QCOM was last Summer before the split.

10% plus a triple would put JDSU about 600/share pre-split, so we have the same level of optimism. However, It is hard for me to imagine this happening over the Summer. I still think we are going to see a significant NASDAQ correction, and it will almost certainly be before September--more like May, when the tax refunds stop flowing in.

So, it is easier for me to see a QCOM style leap in the Fall. However, the key will be whenever JDSU becomes a mainstream celebrity stock, the way QCOM did. I think the catalyst for QCOM was their 4 for 1 split. Maybe JDSU will have some kind of technical breakthrough.

In fact, it would be great if next week's conference put FO in the spotlight the way biotech has been. On the other hand, maybe there will be no explosive changes, just a train heading up a steep mountain, as fishweed prefers. That's okay with me too.
