Might as well throw in my 2-bits here too. I've recently had similar problems trading with TD Webfoot - 30+ min for orders to be opened. I spoke with their Vancouver office last week to complain about the lack of service and was advised that the problems were industry wide but that they were making every effort, yadda yadda... I will say one thing in their favor - the person (Maurice Lam) I spoke with was very polite, efficient and apologetic. While this doesn't help speed up my trading any, I am at least now prepared to wait a bit before I send in the eTrade application I printed out after my last trade.

I hope the regulators can see fit to expediting the relaxation of the "know-your-client" rules - that should go a long way towards fixing this type of problem.
