joan, is a variation of the gold carry trade occurring with platinum? if so, the tendency will be to drop in price until the carry trades are halted.

Joan,

The Timet-Boeing supply agreement has been the subject of some controversy on the Yahoo boards. Posters claiming BA not enforcing supply agreements on subcontractors, and TIE not in a good position to shoot their largest client. Don't know how much underlying truth there is to this.

I also wonder about the Boeing/GE partnership regarding the 777's using GE engines. I don't know who GE gets Titanium from, but that can't be good for Pratt-Whitney.

Guess that has been discussed too.

I guess my question is, given Titanium is supposed to be very abundant and a superiour metal, why is it so darned expensive to produce?
