Fasoline prices in Detroit are changing by the day now. No more raising in unison and the ethanol discount is gone. Prices range from $1.59 to $1.69

Ok folks, Poll's over, the results are in:

Charleston $1.38
Detroit $1.65
Houston $1.45
Wisconson $1.53
New York City $1.57
San Francisco $1.71
San Diego $1.59
Austin $1.39

Average Price $1.53

Where people gave me a range, I took a average. I threw out the NJ low price, as that seemed like an anomalous price. Must've been in the Pine Barrens somewhere. <g> At any rate, prices in Hawaii easily cancel that out. I read recently that it's 1.60 out there and climbing also.

Soooo, most people in the country are paying over a buck and a half a gallon. These are clearly not "peak" prices. It will get worse before it gets better. I don't know about you folks, but I can't remember when prices got this high - all across the country, all at the same time. I do remember things got rough in San Fran last summer when some refineries went on the fritz. But this is universal. Even managers of technology funds must finally be noticing. <G>

Gas prices are my best candidate for oil patch stock catalyst, I call them CONVINCERS, and DENIAL BREAKERS. Have a nice day, folks. And don't forget to top off that tank, cause it's going to get worse. <VBG>
