Re: and your opinion is worth less than a warm cup of spit...

Panicking Paul,

You're sounding quite hysterical there, you must be really worried. Just remember that, although Dresden was set up to be easily quadrupled in size, each doubling should take at least a year. You should have time to get out of Intel if you need to - but just in case, maybe you'd better start practicing "Would you like fries with that, Sir."

Re: and your opinion is worth less than a warm cup of spit...

Panicking Paul,

More news! AMD shipping 1GHZ parts tomorrow! Did you happen to notice that in the middle three sentences of that short press release you could find the words availability, available, available, available? Sort of a subliminal message there, don't you think?

Meanwhile, even for $320 more than a 733MHZ, Dell can't ship an 800MHZ coppermine for "at least 30 days."

You know, a lot of procurement agents are pretty loyal to their sources like Dell. But if Gateway or Compaq can ship 1GHZ next week, and all Dell can ship is a 733.... Well, that's a pretty big difference.

Ring, Ring, - Hello? Is this Compaq?

Dan

Paul, please help me out. I searched intel.com and can't find any announcement of a 1 GHz PeeWee3. There must be some mistake, you promised me that Intel would beat AMD. Oh, the shame of it all... And they didn't announce an 850 when you said they would either! Who can you trust anymore?

The fastest Intel machine in the Best Buy circular is a 600, right near the 800 MHz HP Athlon. And I thought HP got first dibs on those fast Intel 800's...

Will the sun come out tomorrow???

A black day for Intel.

Petz

AMD - $41 1/2 - still below its all time high over 3 years ago.

You clearly don't know the facts - and your opinion is worth less than a warm cup of spit.

Paul,

Maybe you should learn to listen to niceguy's prediction....it seems he may know what he's talking about.

BTW I don't think there will a new high for Intel today.
