Well in all the BS today.

Its important to remember that the number 3 player is struggling to introduce a 500Mhz part (even with the fake PR ratings) in volume.

So by strong competition they have increased the barrier to entry into the lucrative desktop market.

And by year end both companies will be selling processors in the high end with huge on chip cache running at speeds of 1.3-1.5Ghz.
