"i just sold my awre." Very hasty! You and several million other investors may be reading a whole lot more into the news release than is actually there. Look at the press release closely.

(1) We know the chip/technology being offered is a great technology. But

(2) Do we know the production status of the Beryllium chip? That is: (a) are the results announced from a prototype chip with stunning performance results? If so, they will have to ramp up production, and it may be years before the chip is mass produced and going into computers. When they say that "Virata will significantly raise the bar for ADI, Lucent, and the rest of the usual suspects" they may be talking about this with respect to the next generation of chips and technology. This is a huge market place and if we restrict attention for a moment to what's going out for sale right now, it isn't clear that Aware, ADI or anyone else is at all doomed. In fact, as I write this, ADI is up 13 1/2, and the biggest growth sector of their business is the chips with Aware's technology on them. jess.
