Hi,

I know you and everyone else is at the big meeting today, but perhaps you could get some QCOM questions asked while you are there.

I am getting concerned over the GSM 3G announcement the other day. It seemed to imply that 70% of the worlds carriers were planning to go with the EDGE solution for 3G which they reiterrated is not a 2.5 solution, but 3G. I know this is considered FUD on this board, and that HDR might be a quicker way for GSM carriers to provide bandwidth in a more palatable way than the dreaded CDMA.

I was not on the board when Gregg Powers was posting, but I am wondering if there is anyone else like him who truly understands the situation.

From the announcements that have come out, it would lead one to question the fact that the consortium agreement that the 3G solution has to be WCDMA is still a given at this point. This, of course, is the king pin of Qcom gorilladom as I understand it.

Even though CDMA is clearly a superior technology, that alone is not enough to keep them on the throne (witness the inferiority of Microsoft software and OS).

Is QCOM addressing these announcements at the shareholders meeting, or does anyone there from the G&K have a clear view of this issue?

Thanks,
Carol
