RE the recent run up...

...just speculating, isn't the court case happening now? Could that have something to do with it?

However, I would also agree that there must be an element of Sandisk being 'discovered'.

The next set of results are going to have a lot to live up to!

Joe

Sam, maybe one of the reasons the stock is up is that investors are beginning to realize that SNDK is an Internet related issue that is different from most others - it makes money the old fashioned way.

Sam, Solectron may be suffering due to the lack of flash.

Flash appears to be the "rate-limiting step" due to its relative scarcity right now. The beauty about SanDisk is that they allow manufacturers to design in slots, rather than wait for flash to become available. I think the SIII announcement is interesting because Diamond Multimedia could essentially produce a product with no embedded flash, reduce production costs, avoid production delays and point consumers in SanDisk's direction for flash memory cards. If I recall correctly the Rio! 500 has 64MB of on-board memory with an additional capacity for 32MB with a SmartMedia card. The cost of that embedded flash has to add significantly to the cost of the device. Including a token amount of SanDisk memory in the form of MMC or CF will rapidly expand the consumer base.

It seems that there will be a huge void to fill in the removable memory market and SanDisk will be throwing in shovel-full after shovel-full to try and feed this beast.

It will make the digital film market seem like a drop in the bucket, IMHO.
