Keith, "maybe ADI wasn't impacted today for the reasons stated in AWRE's PR", I aint buying that one, because if it were true, Aware's price wouldn't have been butchered like this either. Rather, I think that

(1) The technology (ADSL) is a small percentage of ADI's revenue stream, and the bright outlook for the rest of their operations is dominant, and

(2) The market really overreacted dramatically to the press release, in which case there is money to be made from other people's knee-jerk reactions. our money gone today, someone else's tomorrow. This is what makes Aware's response so important. The stock would have continued to hemorrhage tomorrow had not something been done. There may still be some price reaction tomorrow, but i actually look for a substantial uptick now. jess.

imho, this price drop is just silly and caused by inexperienced and/or very short term investors. this type of volatility is to be expected in such a fast growing, fast changing market. in their earlier years, this type of stock movement has occurred in even the most prominent high tech companies such as msft, csco, etc.

but to me, investing longterm in this company is still very much a no-brainer for the following reasons:

intellectual property
patents
recognized strong management
excellent customer base
continued product development
actual earnings
market share
extremely high growth market
extremely low current penetration
and probably a bunch of other smaller reasons i haven't thought of.

losing 10+ points on the verta news is just plain silly. it's even more silly that such a move occurred on less than 1 million shares.

just fyi the after hours trading is on the rebound side. the last trade i saw was at 54 even.
