GOLF PRO JEAN VAN DE VELDE TO REPRESENT FOGDOG.COM BUSINESS EDITORS/SPORTS & HIGH-TECH WRITERS

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 7, 2000--French golf
professional Jean Van de Velde, the European Tour veteran who is an
emerging star on the PGA Tour, has signed an agreement to represent
leading online sporting goods retailer Fogdog Sports (Nasdaq:FOGD.O),
the company has announced.
Van de Velde, 34, placed second at the recent Tucson Open but is
best known for his dramatic finish at last year's Open Championship in
Scotland. He will wear a Fogdog.com visor in all worldwide
professional events, provide editorial content for the Fogdog site at
www.fogdog.com, and participate in a variety of promotional
activities.
"Jean is a world class player and an outstanding individual who
reflects Fogdog's core values," said Fogdog CEO Tim Harrington. "He's
a 'go for it' competitor and we're a 'go for it' company. Jean will be
a great ambassador for Fogdog and our golf store."
Van de Velde said Fogdog Sports is "a fantastic company and a
great brand" that he found while surfing the Internet for sporting
goods. "I was impressed. I think Fogdog will become one of the great
Internet and sports brands of the 21st Century. I am very proud to be
with the company, and excited that they are also going to be the
commerce partner on my own site, www.allezjean.com."
Van de Velde is currently ranked 85th in the world and 37th on
this year's money list with $249,807 in winnings. He qualified for the
European Tour in 1988 and won the 1993 Roma Masters in a playoff with
Greg Turner.
Van de Velde was the runner-up in the British Open at Carnoustie
last summer, losing in a playoff after a stunning triple bogey on the
final hole of regulation play.
A European Ryder Cup team member in 1999, Van de Velde will play
in his first Masters Tournament next month as part of a schedule that
includes more than 30 tournaments on the PGA and European Tours. He
will return to The Open in July, at St. Andrews in Scotland.

This is all very interesting, but PEEEEE-UUUUUUU!!!! the value on this one is tanking. I am long term, but I am afraid all stores will be e-tailing in near future so FOGDOG will lose out on extreme competition.

I like the commercials.
