Elmer,

Back a few days ago (I don't have time to dig it up) I claimed that Intel's 1GHz release was just a desperate attempt to grab PR and that it was shown by their failure to release incremental speed grades. You said let's wait and see what they release

From the Anand article:

"Now, heres where things get weird: because Intel pushed for the early announcement of their 1GHz part and didnt want to disturb the rest of their roadmap, they currently have no CPUs faster than 800MHz but slower than 1GHz. The 8xx and 9xx chips are due out in a couple of weeks, but until then the next option above a Pentium III 800 from Intel is a Pentium III 1GHz. "

It was indeed all about PR for Intel. They skipped ahead to create the illusion that they were not behind. This is so blatant that I won't say any more but you get the idea right?

Regards,

Epinephrine

PS: My aim here is not to rub anything in but I did want to bring my point to rest considering you had put it on hold by requesting to wait and see what Intel released.

Elmer:

Any word as to whether or not those half dozen PWeeIII 800's available at retail have received offers yet?
