You think we can legislate common sense...? "...a trigger lock is a some external device such as a key..." I think we should regulate fly fishing, [to protect the endangered fish -yes, their lives are in danger], and legislate the requirement of Anglers to put locks on their fly reels, [that will prevent the reel from releasing line],so that only the legitimate owner can operate it. [the reels will be manufactured with locks and keys are issued with each new fly rod/reel registration, licensing fee and purchase]. "Something the gun owner can carry on a key chain with other keys." So if you don't have your keys, you don't have your weapon. The 'possessor' of The Key will 'operate' the gun. This leads to some Orwellian places, pezz. "I don't think that this is to much of a compromise..." The TriggerLox issue is just like PBA issue. Would a prohibition of PBA be a compromise to the constitutional amendment which granted [LoL] Women reproductive/human rights...I think so. Would TriggerLox Legislation compromise our right to KaBA...? I think so, and worse than that, the practical use of those arms would be compromised. It's idiotic to 'lock a trigger' with a key...unless the 'key' can function instantaneously and recognition and authorization are immediate...[as in a palm print, or palm implanted microprocessor for lack of any currently realistic possibility/technology]... See where this leads...? You cannot ChildProof life... Adults are not trustworthy.
