<<I think we should regulate fly fishing, [to protect the endangered fish -yes, their lives are in danger], and legislate the requirement of Anglers to put locks on their fly reels, [that will prevent the reel from releasing line],so that only the legitimate owner can operate it. [the reels will be manufactured with locks and keys are issued with each new fly rod/reel registration, licensing fee and purchase]. >> Are you equating the life of fish to the life of a human child? ..... Now this is absurd. ...and you of course know it. <<It's idiotic to 'lock a trigger' with a key...unless the 'key' can function instantaneously and recognition and authorization are immediate...[>> The concept of the "fast draw" is some what over rated in my opinion....As I'm sure you know more relatives, friends, and children are killed with home fire arms than are intruders. <<So if you don't have your keys, you don't have your weapon.>> When is the last time you were at home and didn't have your keys?... yes you may not have them instantly at your disposal...But surely you don't sit at home with a gun in your lap either. <<This leads to some Orwellian places, pezz.>> We live in a complex society. As much as we would prefer not some rules are necessary. As you say "Adults are not trustworthy". Society has the right to regulate what it considers dangerous. We regulate the use of autos because of their potential danger. This in spite of their obvious necessity. Why should guns have special status? <<The TriggerLox issue is just like PBA issue.>> I don't think so...In one instance we are talking about a "bag of cells" in another a sentient human being. You surely have the right to terminate what's inside your own body but I question anyones right to put other lives in undue jeopardy ....Keep the gun...yes the fast draw aspect may be lost but this is how reasonable compromise is spelled
