Hi Tom and all the gang. I want to share the aim results in my ira since the beginning of 2000. I generally follow aim with some mods. I use 5k for my $ size as the acct is in schwab and at $60 the cost of a 5k trade = 1.2%. I like it even more if the $size it 10k or more. Besides use of Newport for buy and sell recommendations I also check out the trading bands on AIQ charts to see where in the recent trading range these prices are. I may adjust the buys or sells if Newport is to far above the top trading band on the sell side or to far below the lower trading band on the buy side. I have frequently used settings of 5 for either side with a 15 on the opposite...rarely a 0 and 20 buy/sell safety setting. I am amazed at how well this has done. Looking at just the cash added to the account since 1st of the year I am up 31k. Here are the trades:
1/6/00 BSX #250 @25 1/2
1/18 NIS #300 34 9/16
1/19 BTGC #300 14 15/16
1/24 ICOC #2000 2 1/8** this was not a aim stk but a lt loser that i used aim to avg down on to cut my losses
1/24 BTGC #300 16 1/2
1/26 FLMK #7164 3 1/2*** also not a aim stk but lt loser which i used aim to avg down and get out at profit after 4 yrs holding it.
2/2 APCC #250 29 1/8
2/17 APCC #250 33 1/8
2/17 BTGC #400 19 15/16
2/9 JBL #200 77 1/16
2/29 TWE #500 18 1/4
3/6 JBL #200 80 3/8

Other aim stk in portf that have so far done nothing are:

ELY owned since 12/6/99

Also have three non aim stk that i am using aim to avg down and hopefully get rid of at profit when they next move up are:

SOSS
INT
ABT
I am quite please with the number of buys and sells that aim has produced and the cash added to the account. I dont pay much attention to unrealized gains or losses. Hope this info is useful to see how AIM works...bj
