Good Morning JLA! Check out this contradiction in news stories. Is it wishful thinking on Dan Rather's part??

From newsmax.com
6:30 p.m. EST

CBS News' Dan Rather is reporting on the evening news that Senator John McCain is considering a third-party candidacy for the presidency.

Rather said that shortly before tonight's broadcast CBS spoke with a high-level McCain aide who said that the Senator "leads a Reform movement in the country." The aide said that the movement represents at least 25% of the population. Rather reported that McCain will be considering this option in the next several days.

"CBS Evening News" anchorman Dan Rather wouldn't mind seeing presidential hopeful John McCain go the third party route if, as expected, Texas Governor George Bush locks up the GOP nomination in the upcoming week. In fact, the influential newsman has even discussed the possibility of an independent McCain run with Ross Perot himself, he told morning radio man Don Imus on Tuesday.

From foxnews.com
Campaign manager Rick Davis dismissed as "ridiculous" any speculation McCain would mount a third-party run in November. The former Navy pilot and Vietnamese prisoner of war has repeatedly said he would remain a Republican and support the party's nominee.
