jc, actually i use the new explorer optical mouse from m$ft. It's the only "optical" I own, btw. <g>

I have win98 behaving now. I think I am ready for linux and samba. I think I might go msft free, like you and qwik. Not totally. I have w2k that I haven't had to REBOOT once because it choked. Only for installs and things.

You should check it out. See what the competition is up to! <g>

PS" I actually did something smart this morning ( a first for the new millineum). I bought 100 shares of wtm at about $103. they own 25% of fsa, which is halted on news. I am the only geek who knew that wtm owned this much of fsa. think there's a market for that kind of specialized knowledge jc? <g>

my M$ mouse blew up last night.

What a coincidence, JC! It just so happens, and I assure you this is not a joke, that last night I spilled a full glass of Alka-Seltzer into my Microsoft Ergonomic Split-Row Keyboard (I was drinking it to ease the pain in my wrist) and it croaked.

Finally, with a huge sigh of relief, I get to go to Fry's today and buy a new $11 old-fashioned straight 101 keyboard.
