Um, I think I think, and have the same idea - I'm holding, but expect a lower price. I'm not selling to avoid capital gains taxes [since I bought really low]. Also, I wouldn't want to sell and miss a big runup, or even a small one. While I expect a lower price, it might well not happen.

But as you say, it does seem odd in most circumstances to hold if you think it's heading down so much! Maybe they are trying to 'talk it down' rather than short it? Or maybe AFTER shorting it. Maybe they have clients who have shorted it and they want one lot of their customers to hold, while the others buy in cheap from others....??

Now I think I've confused myself.

Thinking,
Maurice

Re: Downgrades and opportunity

Only to be expected as this is the way that Wall Street works. The key point in yesterday's CC was BS' assertion that (a) G* has sufficient resources to continue through YE even if they see zero revenue in 2000 and that (b) they can continue operation even through YE '01 with zero revenue. Obviously zero revenue is a worst case assumption given that G* has entered operational status. This says that G* has plenty of runway left to make their business plan work. Another comment of note from the CC was BS' belief that IRIDQ shutting their doors would be the low point in sentiment. If that's true then we are very near the bottom.

Delighted to pick up some teenage GSTRF shares today to add to the LOR shares I picked up on Tuesday. Patient accumulators will be well rewarded here. G* is a 2H00 and beyond story. 1H00 is the time to buy at the lows when sentiment is at its most pessimistic.
