Re: ICA Positioning in the Handheld/Palm/Mobile, etc OS Market

Thread- Just a little conversation on the Last Mile thread that involved CTXS. I'm pretty sure someone on this thread asked the significance of the Psion agreement to place Citrix's ICA protocol on their Symbian platform. Hopefully the following series of posts, read in order, explains it's significance. You have to read carefully because it's a crazy world out their with all the OS for handhelds, palms, mobile phones, etc. Ironically the more confusing it becomes, the better for Citrix.

Hope everyone understands Scott's point about the seat cost via a Citrix solution. It's something I'm sure CTXS management must be thinking hard about if they really want to break into that market. -MikeM(From Florida)

PS Oh I just noticed Innuit already understood the significance of EPOC in the third paragraph of his post at: Message 13020105 ...it just took me a little longer.<g>

Re: 25% growth rate. Citrix's eps growth rate was 58% last year and has been experiencing about a 11% sequential quarterly growth rate. As I recall revenue growth has been even stronger. Other then slightly cutting eps for this year from some analysts, due to increased R&D and marketing, I have not seen any analyst report or any other source for that matter, indicating a particular cause or threat to effectively and dramatically reduce ctxs's growth rate. Despite a First Call consensus expected growth of about 25% this year, long term is expected to be about 45%. Why the 25% for just this year, I don't know. I've tried many sources for an explanation including calling Citrix and H&Q amongst other things. Citrix had no explanation, said to call the analysts. H&Q never got back to me. So unless someone can show me evidence of some extraneous threat, something other then those effecting their current business environment I see no reason expect a material change in growth.
