Steve -

In re: Rambus technology, I'm sorry you're not willing to consider the issues. Are you willing to address this one?

[MU] "[RDRAM] has high latency"

[SMOD] "[RDRAM] has a major advantage in 'granularity'"

[MU] "[embedded SDRAM] avoid the granularity issue as well as get high performance and low cost"

In re: short squeezes, it's not true that, "if the short interest remains constant and a stock rises than there must be another influence i.e increased expectations". This is true only if there are no new short positions.

Imagine an old-fashioned manipulation. Take a heavily shorted, momentum-driven trading sardine. By hook or crook, our hero (let's call him 'Hunt') drives up the price. Fear and margin calls impel some to cover; the price goes up more. Now others see the shimmer of apparent overvaluation, and short sardines. Hunt keeps buying (or releasing PR), shorts keep getting squeezed.. but the short position shows no net drop (it may even increase).

Remember how that story ended?
