Re: Terabeam

Hi ww,

Hesse changes the perception, doesn't he?

I watched him being interviewed on CNBC yesterday and he impressed me with his catergorization of Terabeam's technology being the most revolutionary thing he had seen in his 23 year career in wireless. The fact that he would walk away from a potential bonanza upon the spin out of AT&T's wireless division speaks volumes to me. As to what the technology really involves, I can't comment intelligently at this point. Apparently George Gilder saw Terabeam's system last month and was so impressed he has made the company his Telecosm pick for the month of March. (Dissappointing thousands of momentum players in the process.)

PMP IR optical?

Yeah, does seem a bit of a stretch doesn't it? Just how does one take a coherent lased signal and smear it around the 'hood? At least they didn't suggest they were taking it around the corner.....

A final note.... it is times like these I refer to one of my favorite quotes: "The world is so fast that there are days when the person who says it can't be done is interrupted by the person who is doing it." - Anon.

Re: Terebeam's promise to change everything, I'm skeptical, but certainly not cynical.

Best, Ray

Re: Terabeam Patent Application

ww and y'all,

Here's a URL for Terabeam's patent:
l2.espacenet.com

This one is simply the abstract:
l2.espacenet.com

I believe it has been mentioned that the company's website,
terabeam.com
will be going live on Monday, 03/13. Sorry if this is a repeat.

[Aside: Finally, a rare bit of vanity on my part. My initial post on Terabeam on this thread has been selected by the powers-that-be as one of the kuhl newels (uh, cool posts) of the day here at SI. Check out the SI home page! Aw shucks, I guess it helps to talk about exciting new subjects. Sm:)e.
