I don't think the market has fully appreciated how big the ongoing growth in Taiwan semiconductor companies is. Compare posts #7085 and #7065.

Notice that the January figures show much faster sales growth for the overall Asia-Pacific region than for the rest of the world -- about 46%% compared with 43% for Japan, 25% for the Americas and 22% for Europe -- overall world growth of 32.9%.

Then notice the February figures for the Taiwan companies:
TSMC +142.6% and UMC +201%

Taiwan is getting the lion's share of both Asian and world semiconductor sales growth. Further, their investments in state-of-the-art production not only increases their capacity but also gives them cost advantages that will improve their margins. If the news for world semiconductors is good, the news for Taiwan semiconductors is great!

This situation should be given more attention by the UMC ADR offering. Once more people become aware of ALSC as a deeply undervalued way of participating, the stock price should take off.
