No, the only ones who are shills for the Reverend SMM are those who get paid to use their influence and prestige to advance the interests of their payer, especially when the only reason they are doing it is for money, and personal conviction is not involved. I made that clear. Why do I have to keep saying the same thing over and over again? It is just too frustrating. That reminds me, though. When Bush was shilling for Tiempos del Mundo in Argentina and Uruguay, he went out of his way to describe Moon's Washington Times as, "an independent voice... the editors of the Washington Times tell me that never once has the man with the vision interfered with the running of the paper." In fact, it happens to be the case that whole parade of senior editors and correspondents have resigned from the paper specifically in protest against manipulation of the news by Moon and his lieutenants. A man named James Whelan was the first editor of the paper, and he resigned, in 1984, saying "I have blood on my hands" for helping the church achieve increased legitimacy. Oh, yeah, I'm glad you brought up the Washington Times. Do you know about the unfortunate fate of the publisher of that paper, Bo Hi Pak, in 1988? In case you don't: A Zimbabwean member of the church pronounced by Moon the reincarnation of a son of his who had died in a car crash, conducted punitive sessions with various church officials involving self criticism, humiliation, being forced to sing for hours, and beatings. Poor Bo Hi Pak was severely beaten by the Zimbabwean sinless-son reincarnation, which resulted, according to reports, in brain damage and impaired speech. Moon sanctioned the beating, and transferred the brain-damaged aide to Japan. Of course George and Barbara's devotion to family values of the sort they praised Moon for representing is so great, that possibly they would have promoted this organization even without the generous pay check. If that is the case, it would be unfair to call them paid shills for an evil man.
