Peter, even though you may have been cavorting with my analysis, you should not rule out the possibility of the company spinning off different divisions of their Emerging markets in the future. Their VJ department seems to be doing very well investing the companies money. Just look at Juniper Networks (4.6%), Aether (13%), Extreme Networks, Omnisky (55+%), No Wires Needed, FusionOne and a slew of upstarts that will soon come to the market.

If we compound 50% growth over 4 quarters we have over 500% growth. This being the case 3Com will be generating over $2.5 billion from its' emerging markets within 4 quarters and easily offset the losses associated with their legacy products. If recent deals and alliances in these areas are any indication we are all in safe hands. Unfortunately most of us don't have patience.
