> According to the current issue of Biz Week, Sony is expected to ship up to 10 Million PSX2's this year. If I make a WAG of $25/chip, it look's like $500 Million revenues for Toshiba. And if I use 1.5% royalty/fee, that equals $7.5 million Rambus revenues. <

Don't forget that you are looking "list price" and everything is negotiable. This is a big, highly visible design win and I am sure that Toshiba/Rambus went to extremes to win it. I would expect that the pricing Sony gets is very aggressive and I wouldn't be surprise to find that the Rambus royalties were substantially discounted to help Toshiba win the business.

My info is that RMBS makes $2.50 from each PS2. Why would RMBS give aggressive discounts when Sony saves nearly $30 per unit by using RMBS?
