WSTL makes a good damn modem. I have no questions with that.

The problem that I have is that even though there is a HUGE demand for DSL right now, I think the demand will diminish as people ACTUALLY BEGIN to use DSL. They will notice that their DSL service will be unreliable, and bad word of mouth about DSL service will begin to spread.

There just isn't enough QUALIFIED DSL techinians in the work force. Maybe until the day comes will DSL subscribers actually be happy with their DSL service.

My gf's brother has also told me that he's spoken with friends who have Bell Atlantic InfoSpeed DSL and that they are also disappointed with the service and reliablity, the same problems I'm having.

It's been a month now and my DSL is still not fixed. Like I said in my previous post, it was not up and running this morning when I woke up, so bye bye DSL. I'm cancelling DSL and getting reliable cable modem service.

How many people here who read this post actually have DSL service at home? DSL service for businesses is probably more reliable than service at homes, but does anyone else here have or have had similar problems like I have?

DSL is a nice innovation and superb idea for broadband, but once you get it and use it, your opinion might change just like mine has. Faster repair response time and more qualified DSL technicians are a must if DSL is to win the battle against cable modems.
