Brian, gays are tolerated by society and treated humanely. They are even celebrated in popular culture. Let's not pretend they are persecuted.

Brian,

Not encourage it but tolerate it within bounds in some moderate and sane, humane way.

Not encourage it?? why Brian, that is pretty mean spirited of you, don't you think?? Sane, humane? that could mean in a cage or anything....that IS mean of you...

By letting homosexuals teach you ARE encouraging it, and if you think not you have those blinders pulled up pretty high and tight. AS a Christian I am called to love homosexuals,...that does not mean accept them IN their sin. Or dive in with it. There is a saying that Christ finds you as you are, but He does not leave you there. There is no biblical call to leave anyone IN sin, the GOOD NEWS if freedom from those things.

the great majority of gay men are born the way they are--

Nope. you listening to too much media hype? no gay gene, and I will only lead you here, and not discuss that issue further.

narth.com

It is grossly unfair to equate them to rapists, wife beaters and child molesters. And very mean-spirited, I must say, oh ye who follow Christ.

If it makes you feel any better, I also equate sin with wife cheats, those who live out of wedlock together, drunkards, liars, I don't want them teaching my children either. <<<There is a key here, as all have sinned, the key is PRACTICING>>>

Yeah, asking those who sin continually to quit and not do it is really ""mean spirited"" all right..It is only a matter of time until you always get around to the ""mean spirited"" quote, in context with Christianity. As I said to another, would you pull a man out of a fire? or assume he wanted to be there?

Would you see Jesus?
