The day closed with a block of 111,000 shares crossing at 10, clearly a buy. Nice day. But I am still amazed that both Maxtor and WDC have larger market caps than HDD, despite the latter's far superior balance sheet and position in both desktop and enterprise drives. Perhaps the other two are being rewarded for having their NAS divisions, while Snap is structurally part of DSS. Nevertheless, if there is some price stability here, HDD has a great deal of appreciation ahead of it.

I'd think the market would prefer a 15 GB single platter drive at about $100 over this one.

I personally don't seem to need more than 5GB currently, and typically run three or more operating systems via dual boot.

Recently helped an associate upgrade to a 10GB Maxtor at $109. No position in MXTR and Long both HDD and WDC, but that seemed to be the best value.
