Watson reports Laidlaw (NYSE:LDW) is urging Safety-Kleen Corp. (NYSE:SK), in which it has a 44-per-cent common share interest, to quickly complete the internal investigation of its accounting procedures in order to provide quantification of any discrepancies that may be found and to alleviate the uncertainty surrounding the company. Laidlaw will consider all information as it becomes available in determining the appropriate carrying value of its investment in Safety-Kleen and intends to take all available steps to protect the value of its investment.
