Yes, Larry does provide an unemotional approach to his MU
analysis and Carl has had good things to say (along with others) and hopefully profits. Again, it's only a broad generalization.
In retrospect the TXN deal appears to have benefited both companies. Judging only by the stock price.
Your analogy is well taken, precisely the point. Tunnel vision. How many conversations can you relate to dealing with overvaluations in this market - probably many. I remember having this talk with Skeeter when I first started here. No matter how much FA, TA, praying, when you click that last confirm your in the same soup as the big boys the little boys and the blind boys.
What I found surprising was the crescendo of voices calling for MU's head on a platter - for all things "LYING", misrepresentation, doctoring...... geez give me a break.
They have survived all these cycles as you mention, so
with that experience (survival) in their veins the first law, second law and third law of business is met.

....If they survive the next down cycle

good question. and if they have a new product with yields that support it.

As far as the Ti deal we will see what happens in Italy, look at TI's profits since getting out -- through the roof -- must mean something.
