sounds like blackice will be great for you. and there is virtually zero configuration. it was a treat to download and install and have it be good to go. keep in mind that sometimes the download isn't the most recent version (i know, that sounds crazy). but it's easy to download the upgrade. the only real setting you may change is the security level. i bumped mine up a notch from the default. some folks take it to the top level.

I also have DSL, but with my setup I have kept the same IP address for months. There is a "lease" setting which holds the IP address for your link for ? hrs/wks and network configurators set them differently.

Have you checked your IP address before/after to determine that you are getting a different one? DS
