Dave - Re: "Audience responds to his analysis"

I listened to about 5 minutes... and after several gross factual errors (referred to selected retail market share data as being overall PC market share) turned it off. May finish it later.

I don't think this is having any impact on the market.

An aside, Yahoo seems to have lost one of the "strong buys" BUT the earnings estimates are up:

Current 7-days ago
1Q00 0.41 0.35
2Q00 0.51 0.46
2000 1.96 1.90
2001 2.88 2.91

5Dave22.
I listened to both audios. I must say that the audience participant, ED, knew his stuff and pretty much put ASSHOK, in a tin can.
Asshok seems to think the desktop is about to die out and AMD has no place to go. We've heard this malarkey for many years now...
Apparently Asshok loves Intels desperation marketing, now playing down the value of speed vs niche markets...
One interesting thing he did say was that INTEL is going to roll out the Willy in Q3...if they do it will be yet another Floppermine release...seems to be the way they have to do it these days...since they are losing the Mhz race.
Yet, the analysts continue to pump the stock up.
One very interesting thing that Ed, reiterated is that reports have the yields on the Thunderbird @ Dresden currently higher than Athlon yields @ Austin. And this is on copper interconnect technology.
One thing not mentioned is that when the on die L2 Athlons begin to ship, Intel won't be able to hide behind their synthesized benchmarks as the new Athlons will widen the performance gap to the point where Intel won't even be able to fake it.
And the chant continues at Intel...Gotta get to Willy....

5Dave, I listened to about 5 minutes of each -- Asshead Kreamer's "analysis" and ED's response. AK's main argument for Intel seemed to be that only servers matter and that servers have a much higher growth rate than desktops. True, but AMD can grow by increasing their market share and Intel can't.

ED pointed out that AK worked many years for Intel, has always been positive on Intel and negative on AMD. Also, that AK blatantly lied when he said he switched to a BUY when AMD was in the low 20's -- it was in the thirties, and that having a BUY rating on a stock but telling people not to buy it is ludicrous.

I got the impression that ED either reads this thread or is an active participant.
