Guess we've been paddling in the same canoe, Liz.

You offer a great mental graphic - one I know so well. Used to happen a lot on Monday mornings for some reason. I'd call the broker for a quote and he'd give it. I'd correct him saying "no no, the symbol is...." He would then repeat the disastrous quote whereupon your projectile theory came into play...<ggg>.

Things have changed. Now the good news/bad news comes via internet. For some reason, there don't seem to be as many total disasters as there used to be. Perhaps I'm just more cautious. No more one hole bets.

Still, I'd be nervous of shorting anything with a working drill on the property. While odds may be long, the one I short will be the one that hits... guaranteed!!

Maybe I'll start a newsletter like everyone else and show my portfolio. Naturally it will be dead wrong and a shorters dream. If I show a short, it will guarantee a great buy. Come to think of it, a lot of newsletters and analysts already provide such information. Suspect you already know that too.

Regards,
Bob
