Ontario Platinum/Palladium Discovery

PACIFIC NORTH WEST CAPITAL ("PFN-Y") - Ontario Platinum/Palladium Discovery

Harry Barr, President of Pacific North West Capital (the "Company" or "PFN"), is pleased to announce the initial results of surface sampling from the Jackie Rastall Prospect, located in Janes Twp 50 km NE of Sudbury, Ontario. PFN may earn a 25% interest in Goldwright Exploration Inc. a private Ontario company, completing a $200,000 equity investment, and up to a 70% interest in the Janes Twp projet and a second project in adjacent Kelly Twp, from Goldwright through exploration expenditures of $1 million over 4 years, completion of a feasibility study, and arrangement of project financing.

Exploration Results

The recent mapping, sampling, and geophysical program was initiated to assess significant platinum/palladium values associated with previously known copper-nickel mineralization. Continuous samples across surface outcrops were taken using a diamond saw, and assays were conducted by Accurassay Laboratories, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Results from Trench #1 over a sample length of 13.34m (43.8 ft) are as follows:

Pd(g/t) Pt(g/t) Au(g/t) Pd+Pt(+Au %) Cu(%) Ni(%)
3.52 0.44 0.40 4.36 1.04 0.42
Including 5.08 g/t Pd+Pt+Au over 5.8m (19 ft)

The Platinum Group Element ("PGE") mineralization is associated with disseminated chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and pentlandite in gabbroic rocks of Proterozoic age. Preliminary microprobe work has identified the main PGE-bearing mineral as michenerite (PdBiTe). The recent program increased the strike extent of the surface mineralization from 500 ft. to 1,700 ft., and assays are pending on several other trenches.

Under a separate agreement, PFN and Goldwright have, on a 50/50 basis, staked an additional 128 claim units covering several other nearby mineralized horizons, increasing the size of the combined land holdings to over 17,000 acres. A regional-scale exploration program has commenced to evaluate the new ground position.

Trenching of the Jackie Rastall Prospect is ongoing, and further announcements will follow with assay results, timetables and budgets for the drilling of selected targets. PFN currently has working capital of over $500,000, no debt, and is reviewing other North American platinum/palladium prospects with the objective of aggressive acquisition of additional projects prior to spring 1999.
