As Jim said, AMD doesn't have big money to spend. I think Intel spent $300M to advertise the PIII. That's close to what what the AThlon may bring in total revenues this quarter! Another thing to consider, the K6-2 gained all that marketshare last year with almost minimal advertising.

Does anyone read computer magazines? I don't know if they are advertising there but it would make sense to advertise there. Last Q I saw a three page Athlon advertisement in Business Week and one ad in the WSJ. I don't know if they are continuing that. If they want a stronger chance to get in business PCs they should, but maybe they are waiting for Thunderbird.
