David,

Congratulations on your new Athlon system. A gamer friend of mine bought an Athlon 550 last week and overclocked it to 750. He says that it is rock solid and has not crashed once.

Pravin.

David, Congrats, now over clock the sucker to 850 with an overclocking board, but do not fry it. Some people will not want to hack into the cartridge due to risk of destruction of same.
I wonder how many AMDites are using AMD machines?
This is what I am discovering from various dealers. The Athlon is easier to use and more stable then the P-III, as well as costing less. Once the initial ice is broken and the dealers sells AMD, well he will keep selling them and as the dealers go, so goes the nation.

Bill

David - RE: "I am posting this message on my new Gateway Athlon 650."

Neat! How long did it take for you to get it after you ordered it?

EDIT - Never mind, I saw your post afterwards. 6 days is also how long it took Jim's Gateway customer ;) to get their Athlon system.

Anybody watching the crushing that NSM has had since the earnings annoucement? Brooks Automation(BRKS) is looking real strong. Anyone know how to read the serial number code for the Athlon?

david,

I am not surprised re NSM. While NSM did better in terms of EPS and beat the consensus, its revenue growth was marginal. In fact I was surprised the stock got as high as it did.

Hello David,

re:I am posting this message on my new Gateway Athlon 650. Very fast and smooth.

Great news! Hope you love it! The Athlon's performance continues to amaze me. They are the most stable machines I've ever had the privilege of using.

Did you ever open that case to get your processor serial numbers? As I recall Gateway puts an adhesive seal on their case and it always concerned me the implications of breaking the seal wrt the warranty.

re:I will use it tomorrow to buy some more AMD.

I love it! An Athlon machine helping AMD build more Athlons! AMD stock may increase exponentially!

Enjoy!

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan
