Eric - but at least as it applies to the world of ETSI and 3GPP there IS indeed a specification for the UMTS/IMT-2000 Terrestrial Radio Access System (UTRA) aka UTRA FDD (WCDMA or WCDMA-DS) for IMT-DS. The current specification is UMTS release 99. Agreed, to an extent. But there is no ITU level agreement, and even for the UTRA version I strongly suspect the spec is far from complete, although I haven't seen the latest version. FWIW. Clark
