"The short position may continue for years" Really?? You can't be serious. But again somebody has to be left holding the bag, might as well be shorty. Better think that statement again. On to more interesting news, Nintendo will delay Dolphin in the US and Europe until 2001. Interesting gambit and may be very good for THQI. I guess Nintendo does not want to share center stage with Sony and compete with their hype for PS2's release in the US. They will have early 2001 to hype Dolphin and keep interest in platform momentum going. Of course after Dolphin will come X-Box. There will be no shortage of hype for sometime in game biz. Nintendo is focusing on content, have the hot games and the buyers for Dolphin will follow. Has ERTS's focus on PS2 and it's leaving N64 too soon a reason for the stocks recent decline? I think Farrell and THQ's strength is knowing the market and filling profitable niches by being more nimble then the others. ""Nintendo to put off release of new console in U.S., Europe -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kyodo via NewsEdge Corporation : OSAKA, March 13 (Kyodo) _ Nintendo Co. plans to postpone the release of its next-generation video game console in the United States and Europe until the first half of next year instead of December as initially scheduled, a Nintendo official said Monday. But Nintendo will release the new game console, tentatively called Dolphin, in Japan in December as scheduled, the official said. The postponed release in the U.S. and Europe is not linked to any technical problem but to a marketing view that sales of the existing game console and related software are so strong that there is no need to make an early release of the new product, the official said. The new game console is now under development by Nintendo in collaboration with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.""
