VerticalNet right is still stuck in the content, community model. Even though they licensed TradeX (which is now owned by Ariba) it get transcation revenue, they will never compare to Ariba & CommerceOne's potential. For example, CommerceOne is expecting $250-300 million in revenue from the GM TradeXchange initiative ALONE. The money is in the transaction trading/procurement platform.

vert - i think they could be turning the corner to being a b2b market enabler...it's taken quite some time and they still have a long way to go too early many said they were a b2b king when they were just a builder moving towards that vert still hasn't delivered on the level or degree of cmrc or arba nor do i expect them to since the models are different my perferred order is arba and cmrc and orcl as the database engine
