Thread, $1B this Q IS official. And so is $1B each Q. I was wrong yesterday when I said the $1B was not official. Here's what a poster at Yahoo got back when he emailed Toni Beckham: messages.yahoo.com --- "Thank you p3killer. This isn't all good news for those who were hopeful for a further preannouncement on Monday (that included me). I thought (for about 2 seconds) about keeping the information about no further press releases to myself. But here it is. For those who doubt the veracity of the emails, there is only one way to check it. Write to Toni Beckham yourself. The address is: toni.beckham@amd.com. It's also listed on amd's website and on the yahoo profile page for amd. Here is the text of the second message. I will paste the first message below: As I indicated in my previous message to you, Mr. Sanders made the revenue comment at the Morgan Stanley conference and analysts have reported on it. AMD already issued a press release indicating that we expect revenue to increase over last quarter. The only difference is that we have attached a number to it. However the previous guidance has not changed for the quarter. With respect to future quarters, AMD will discuss its expectations on the quarterly conference call on April 12. As the company's guidance has not changed from our last press release about first quarter results, it is unlikely that we will issue another one. This is the text of the first message: Yes. I said that AMD is not willing to give its processors away. I also repeated Mr. Sanders' comments made at the Morgan Stanley conference last week.
