Current Account Deficit, Q499 Current Account Deficit Q499 = -$99.8b bea.doc.gov The U.S. current-account deficit-- the combined balances on trade in goods and services, income, and net unilateral current transfers--increased to $99.8 billion in the fourth quarter from $89.1 billion (revised) in the third, according to preliminary estimates of the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis. The goods and services deficit, the income deficit, and net unilateral current transfers all contributed to the increase.
