This massive widening of the ETEK/JDSU spread is worrisome. It's almost like someone knows something and they're taking off their arbitraged position.

ETEK is now trading at about an 11% discount to the takeover value. That's up from less than 7% earlier in the day.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks R.B. I had just seen the article.

Better not let T2 see that report. The comment about the two "Canadian" companies JDS Uniphase and Ballard Power will make him freak! :-)

It actually bugs me too. I think we all know that the reason for the slide today is not based on the prospect that the Bank of Canada will raise interest rates.
