crazyoldman - Re: "You left out that fleet of head hunting lawyers Intel has. People who get tied up with them are never seen again for years if ever. Sounds like a rat *ss outfit to me."

Intel has a legal staff to protect its Intellectual Property.

It has a duty to its shareholders to insure that companies such as Cyrix and AMD do not steal its property and profit from the hard work and creativity of Intel engineers.

I suppose you just love AMD's legal staff - especially for getting beat by Altera and Brooktree (now part of Conexant) in patent suits.

And let us not forget the AMD lawyers that have to toil INCESSANTLY handling all the AMD shareholder law suits !!

AMD should be close to announcing YET ANOTHER $10 or $20 MILLION settlement for lying to its stockholders last year!

<[Paul] left out that fleet of head hunting lawyers Intel has.>

He left a lot. Himself for example, and how
he "helped" Intel to commit insurance frauds
on several occasions. ("Inside Intel" by Tim
Jackson, ISBN 0-525-94141-X).

<re:Intel has the superior technology, manufacturing and cost structure.>

Has or had? Manufacturing?
In a local "screwdriver" shop, today,
a guy refused to sell me any Coppermine alone,
only in a system, arguing that it is due to
"world-wide shortage". Now let Paul tell
us about "superior manufacturing" with the
notched-botched technology.

- Ali
