I am seeing a grim picture. Although analysts are finally starting to see that Compaq is under evaluated, it looks as if earnings are not going to make it since the year started off so badly. So how does the street react when CPQ turns in low numbers but has a rosy future? Then there are some major issues going on in the economy. The situation of the techs vs the blue chips trading value for the past month or so. Investors looking for the Holy Grail. First the blue chips were showing some profit weakness and now the techs. I suspect that because of Y2K protective buying and the normal 1st quarter slow down, that buying is down in the first quarter and profits will generally be lower. IMO profits will be down across the market in most sectors. Now we have the energy crisis that will also cut into profits, especially for internet vendors that depend on cheap gas to deliver their goods door to door. If we didn't have enough problems, on paper we have the appearance of an overheated economy that Greenspan wants to cool with some higher interest rates. IMO raising interest rates could be the major mistake that sends the market tumbling. We have about 10% to 15% of the bears out in the market, IMHO looks like there could be another 25% to 30% ready to join in. CPQ has been soooo ready to move up, and it seems that the storm clouds are blackening, ready to rain on our party. Does someone have a good word?

Q-=- that recording is almost funny,, almost positive, and almost derrogitory.. buy/strong buy and keep your distance.. talk ablout being on the fence,,, 40 raised to 45 then another 50 or 60,, how about getting through the 33 mark first. It has struggled and fought to hold 30 several times recently and loses,, let's see if it can make it this time.. not much faith,,,
